Upper East Hayes

Upper East Hayes is within Larkhall, a predominantly residential area where the vernacular follows clusters of terraced housing of varying periods and styles.

The proposal provided for four, two bed dwellings. The target demographic is a professional couple that wants the convenience of the central location for business, leisure and transport networks.

The plans for this scheme have been very much driven by the topography of the site as well as the desire to reduce road congestion, by providing off road parking.

The scheme was designed to step up the hill, however with the garage restricting stepping the dwellings in a more traditional manner, the design uses floor to ceiling heights to achieve this. The scheme is not only comfortable within its context, but also not overbearing on its neighbours.
